Tomorrow is a friday.
Another lonely friday.
A friday alone.
I cant take it anymore.
I shall do something.

Wtf.
Alone?
Not alone.
Please not alone.
Dear lord, please not alone.
Give me someone to go with naman.
Fridays should be good.
But its not.
If I was home it would be.
It would be good.
I mean, I do have new friends.
But.

You know.
Its just not like that.
I have no one to laugh hard with.
I have no one to play the harmonica for.
I dont have my Ikat.
I dont have my animal, my paula.
I dont have a cheska to laugh at.
I dont have a sabel to pick on.
I dont have a loupo to hurt.
I dont have an auti to call.
I dont have paulina to call ipis.
I dont have a gel to hug.
I dont have an ange to give me cup cakes.
I dont have a kate to be mean to.
I dont have a cara to make fun of.
I dont have an erin to turn to.
I dont have a therese to call pringgols.
I dont have my IV-2.
I dont have my batch.
I miss so many things.
I miss so many people.
People here are so different.
Sometimes different is good.
But this time.
I think.
I think, its just fine.

Here's to tomorrow.
To friday.
To my lonely friday.

TGIF?

I was at work today.

One of my favorite elder co-workers, Alan, asked me an interesting question.

Alan: So, did you stay up all night last night? It was a friday. Did you go out? Were you on a date?
Nica: Uhm. No. I stayed home and studied.
Alan: But why?
Nica: I also dont know.

Mahirap magkadate ngayon noh. Shit. Shit talaga.

I'm just being a teenager,

Kotse

The weirdest thing happened to me at work 2 days ago.

I heleped an old lady out with her groceries. I took her to her car because she physically incapable of lifting her purchases. She was using an electrical cart [the one you drive around]. I was so excited because that only meant that I had to drive it back in! So there I was, standing infront of her car. She handed me her car keys and told me to open the door for her [she was still sitting on the cart, you see].

Okay listen. IT TOOK ME FIVE FREAKING MINUTES TO TRY AND OPEN THAT CAR DOOR OKAY. I was so embarassed. I really couldnt open it. After another 3 long minutes had, ANOTHER old lady came out of the grocery staring at us. She was glaring at me. For some odd reason.

Then she says 'Hey! Thats MY car!!!'

WHAT.THE.FUCK. That was all I could think of. I looked at the lady I was helping and in my head I was thinking 'Doesnt this woman know her own car? I MEAN WTF?!?!?!'

Me: Omg I'm so sorry! I didnt mean to try and open your car!
Forgetful old lady: I thought it was my car! I'm sorry too.
Old lady 2: Oh! Well, its fine I guess. That happened to me too before, you know.

HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW YOUR OWN CAR? Psh.

So blah blah blah blah, I took the lady to her car, the correct one. It was right next to the car we thought was hers. And let me tell you, her vehicle was so different from the other one. Different color, different type, different everything.

Really. Wtf?

In the Philippines this wouldnt be a problem. Why? Because manong driver is always there to spot your car and fetch it for you. Haaayyyyy.

Naglilingkod,

Happy Money

Working in a grocery is a lot of fun. You meet all sorts of people. Young, old, babies, norwegians, brits, and even fire men!

For me, working as a courtesy clerk is a really humbling experience. I have pretty simple responsibilities- like bagging groceries, mopping floors, collecting baskets, fixing shopping carts, sweep, blah blah blah. Like I said! It's a humbling experience.

What I like most about the job is conversing with the customers. Most of them are friendly. However, some of the conversations I get into end up being pretty awkward. Awkward for me at least.

Here's a little look to what my conversations with my customers are like.

Me: Any help out?
Customer: No thanks.
Me: Okay, you have a good day now.

Me: Hello! How are you?
Customer: Good, and you?
Me: Tired. Can't wait to get home.

Customer: Are you sure you can carry that? Youre little.
Me: [looking at the huge-ass-heavy-box] Uhhh... yeah. I guess so. I have to. It's my job, dont worry about it.
Customer: You sure?
Me: Look. In Philippine standards I'm normal sized okay. You Americans are just big thats why I look little.
Customer: Oh.

Customer: Paper bags please!
Me: Oh SURRRRRE okay. [in my head I'm pissed because I know I'm just gonna get more paper cuts.]

Me: I can help you with that.
Customer: No its okay. I dont think you can reach it.
Me: [I look at the top shelf where she was pointing at.] Yeah you know what, I cant. I'm so sorry.

Me: Mangoes, huh? You know, the mangoes in the Philippines are REALLY good. The ones here suck.
Customer: Really now?
Me: [my eyes squint and I realize what I had just said infront of my floor manager] Well... I mean. Uhm... The mangoes here are good too! Its just... different.
-SILINCE-
Floor manager: Hahaha!
Me: Okay good, she laughed.

Most awkward things I say at work [most of the time I laugh at myself for saying them]:
1. Would you like me to bag your milk?
2. I'm just wrapping your eggs with plastic. Just in case!

So far so good, my job is okay. I have no ambition moving up to get a better position. I have school to prioritize. I only work for 'happy money', you know.

Speaking of school, I have 8 more days to go until classes begin.

HOLY SMOKES IM SO EXCITED.
